When my Mom came home from the hospital into home hospice all she wanted was her dog and her chair.  Unfortunately she was too sick for her chair, but her dog Missie did not leave her side on this bed for the remaining 5 days of her life.   She passed away on  April 4th, 2016.  This photo was taken that night, after the funeral home had taken my Mom's body away.   I took the picture because it represented the emptiness I felt in the moment, and made me realize how much our animals grieve too.
