On October 18, 2014, we lost our mom and uncle in a car accident.
On November 18, 2016, we lost our dad suddenly to a stroke.
On July 8, 2017, we said goodbye to our family home, where we lived for 35 years.
This is a photo of my last moments in my childhood bedroom, reflecting on all that's been lost, all that will be remembered, and everything this house represents that cannot be replaced.
Those who have emailed us with PhotoGrief submissions over the last few months knows that we've been on a short hiatus. We're happy to announce that we are once again accepting submissions, so if you have a photo that you'd like to see published on PhotoGrief, please see our submission guidelines. Also, we are still collecting submissions for our summer 'grief waves' challenge. We've received a handful of great submissions so far, check them out when you get the chance.
