Why this exists

When someone dies, most people reach for their phone before they reach for anyone else. What they usually find is a maze of upsells and confusing advice. We wanted the opposite: plain guidance on what to do first, honest cost information, and a gentle way to start remembering the person.

Who we are

We are part of Memorygram, which helps families create lasting online memorials. Creating a memorial is free and needs no account. When you are ready to write an obituary, the obituary builder here hands off to that same product, so everything stays in one place.

How we keep the lights on

We are honest about this: in some areas we may, in time, connect families with a local cremation provider or an estate service, and we may earn a referral fee when we do. We will only ever show those when there is a real, vetted provider to recommend — never as filler. The guidance and the memorial itself stay free.
